The University of Nevada-Reno Wolfpack delivered an astounding performance on their home ice, Reno Ice, Sunday night, shutting out the University of San Diego Toreros in a 9-0 victory. The Wolfpack’s offensive prowess was on full display as they outshot the Toreros by a staggering 69-14.

Despite having five powerplay opportunities, the Toreros were unable to capitalize against the Wolfpack’s formidable defense. Similarly, the Wolfpack didn’t convert any of their four powerplay chances, but their superior shot volume more than compensated for it.

Wolfpack’s goalie, Nick Talton, had a perfect game, saving all 14 shots he faced. On the other end of the ice, Toreros’ goalie Emmett Engle faced a barrage of shots, making 60 saves on 69 shots.

The Wolfpack’s Franklin Griffin had an exceptional game, contributing four assists. The Toreros’ Reed Lanham spent the most time in the penalty box with two penalty minutes, which further hampered the Toreros’ efforts to mount a comeback.

This victory builds momentum for the Wolfpack as they prepare for their next game against Grand Canyon University at Jay Lively Arena in Arizona. The match is scheduled for Friday, Feb 27 at 7:00 pm PST. The Wolfpack will be looking to carry this impressive form into their upcoming games and continue their winning streak.
